Who we are

What we collect
Information you give us when you book an appointment, place an order, join a waiting list or contact us: name, email, phone or WhatsApp number, preferred language, delivery address and the details of your request.
Measurements and preferences recorded during your bespoke appointments.
Messages sent through our contact form, ByJ studio briefs and their attachments, and your waiting list and private circle choices.
Technical and audience data (pages visited, device, approximate country), only with your consent when they rely on cookies.
Why we use it
To manage your appointments and send you confirmations and reminders by email or WhatsApp; to process, deliver and follow up your orders; to issue certificates of authenticity; to answer your requests; and, if you agreed, to send you news about our creations.
We only send the private circle's news if you join it yourself, with its form or by ticking its box (never ticked in advance). There is no confirmation step: you are subscribed at once and receive a welcome email. If you join a waiting list, we may write to you about the piece you chose, our next editions, or JAUPIN news sent to the waiting list. The welcome email and every announcement contain a link to unsubscribe at any time in one click: it removes your address from all our waiting lists and from the private circle.
We never sell your data.
Who processes it
Our service providers, strictly for the purposes above: Vercel (hosting), Supabase (database), Stripe (payments), Google (calendar, maps and, with your consent, audience measurement), Meta (WhatsApp messages and, with your consent, advertising measurement) and Resend (emails). Some of them process data outside the United Arab Emirates, under appropriate safeguards.
Cookies and audience measurement
Vercel Web Analytics measures visits without cookies and without identifying you: it counts pages viewed and a few actions (a click towards booking or WhatsApp, a piece added to the bag, an appointment booked, an order or gift card paid, a form sent) in aggregated form, with an approximate country and device type, and the page where your visit began and where it came from (a search engine, an assistant such as ChatGPT, a social network or another website). That last piece of information is kept in your browser for the session only. It runs for every visitor.
Google Analytics and the Meta Pixel only run if you click Accept on our cookie banner; until then (and if you decline) their scripts are not loaded at all and nothing is sent to Google or Meta. Google Analytics sets the _ga cookies (up to 2 years) to measure how the website is used; its IP addresses are not stored, and its data are kept for 14 months. The Meta Pixel sets the _fbp cookie (90 days) to measure the results of our advertising on Instagram and Facebook. Neither receives your name, email, phone number, order or booking links, gift card codes or certificate codes.
Your choice is kept for 180 days in a cookie named jaupin_consent. You can change it at any time with the Cookie settings link at the bottom of every page: declining afterwards stops Google Analytics and the Meta Pixel and deletes their cookies on this website.
How long we keep it
Customer and order data are kept for the duration of our relationship and the legal accounting period; appointment requests without follow-up are deleted after 3 years; consent-based marketing data until you unsubscribe.
Contact messages and ByJ briefs (with their attachments) are kept for 3 years after our last exchange; waiting list entries until you leave the list.
Your rights
Under the UAE Personal Data Protection Law and, for clients in Europe, the GDPR, you can access, correct or delete your data, object to its use or withdraw your consent at any time by writing to contact@jaupin.com.
