How to choose
Bespoke or ready to wear?
Two ways to own a pair of JAUPIN glasses. What really changes is how the frame meets your face: who draws it, how many fittings it takes, how long it takes and what it costs. At JAUPIN, bespoke always means a frame drawn for you from a blank page — never an existing model resized.
| What changes | Bespoke | Ready to wear |
|---|---|---|
| Design | Drawn for you from a blank page | A finished JAUPIN design (limited editions) |
| Measurements | More than fourteen measurements of your face, taken by hand at the bench | Standard sizes, adjusted to your face at the boutique |
| Appointments | Three: the interview, the 3D-printed prototype fitting, the delivery | None needed; adjustment offered at the workshop |
| Materials | Acetate, buffalo horn, silver, gold, stones and inlays, chosen with you | Those of the edition |
| Timing | 10 days to 4 weeks after the prototype fitting | In stock, shipped within a few working days |
| Price | From 5,000 AED | From 2,000 AED |
| Best for | A face standard frames never fit, or a pair that must say something precise | Wanting a JAUPIN piece now |
Why never a resized model
A resized model starts from a standard frame, made in a few sizes or adjusted after the fact. A bespoke frame starts from your measurements: the width, the bridge and the length of the temples are set for your face before the frame is cut, so nothing has to be forced at delivery.
It is also drawn around a purpose — the office, a wedding, a weekend at the beach — so the shape, the material and the details say what you want them to say.
How to choose
Choose bespoke if standard frames slip, pinch or never look like you, or if you want a pair designed for a precise moment of your life. Plan three appointments, or two during a stay in Dubai.
Choose ready to wear if one of our limited editions already speaks to you and you want it now: it ships within a few days and is adjusted to your face at the workshop.
Bespoke or ready to wear: questions
Can I try a bespoke design before it is made?
Yes. About two days after the interview you try 3D-printed prototypes to validate the shape and proportions before your frame is made.
How long does bespoke take compared with ready to wear?
A bespoke pair is ready 10 days to 4 weeks after the prototype fitting, depending on your design. A limited edition in stock ships within a few working days.
Are ready-to-wear glasses adjusted to my face?
Yes. Every JAUPIN piece can be adjusted to your face at our DIFC workshop, and adjustments remain complimentary.
